dragand for writers and researchers

Collect sources as you go, find them when you write.

Research is a trail of PDFs, screenshots, quotes and links. dragand keeps the ones you need on the edge of your screen while you work, and remembers what you copied, so the quote from Tuesday is still there on Thursday.

Sound familiar?

The everyday friction.

  • Sources scattered

The PDFs for one piece end up in Downloads, the Desktop and an email thread.

  • Quotes that vanish

You copy a quote and its link, then copy the next one and lose the first.

  • Folders for a few days’ work

Making a folder structure for a short piece feels like more work than the piece.

With dragand

How it fits your day.

  • Keep the sources for this piece

Drop each PDF or image on Keep. They stay on the shelf, together, until the piece is done; then drag them out or Put Back each one where it came from.

    Put Back
  • Find last week’s quote

Turn on clipboard history and every quote and link you copy is searchable for 7 days. Type a word you remember and press ↵.

    Clipboard search
  • Pin what you reuse

Your bio, a standard reply, a citation format: pin it once and it stays at the top for good.

    Pinned clips
  • Hold the one-off attachments

The draft you’re sending to an editor goes on Hold: attach it, send it, and the copy clears itself tomorrow.

    How Hold works
Holding above, with time left; Kept below, until you take them.

FAQ

Questions

Can dragand save a quote as a file?

Yes. Any text or image in clipboard history can be saved as a file on your shelf, ready to drag into another app.

Does it work with PDFs in iCloud Drive?

Yes. Cloud-only files download first, with progress, before they’re held or kept. Keeping a file from iCloud Drive moves it out, so dragand asks first.

How long does clipboard history keep things?

The last 7 days by default; you can choose 1 or 30 days instead. Pinned clips never expire.
