dragand for small MacBook screens
One drag away, on a screen with no room to spare.
On a MacBook Air or a 14-inch MacBook Pro, every window is full size and the Desktop is always hidden. dragand lives at the edge of the screen and only comes in while you drag, so it never takes space from your work.
Sound familiar?
The everyday friction.
The Desktop is never visible
Dragging to the Desktop means moving or hiding every window first.
Two windows side by side don’t fit
Dragging from Finder into an app needs both on screen, and there isn’t room.
Full-screen apps
In full screen there is nowhere to drop a file for a moment.
With dragand
How it fits your day.
-
Nothing on screen until you need it
dragand slides in at the edge when you drag a file towards it, or when you rest the pointer against the edge, and slides away after. It never covers your work.
The basics -
Park, switch, drag out
Drop the file on the shelf, switch to the app that needs it (even in full screen), then press ⌃⌥⌘S and drag it out.
Shortcuts -
Left or right edge
Dock on the right? Put dragand on the left edge instead, in Settings › General › Edge. Everything works the same, mirrored.

FAQ
Questions
Does dragand come in over full-screen apps?
It never comes in over another app’s full-screen window, such as a video or a game. The shortcuts still work there: press ⌃⌥⌘S for the shelf or ⌃⌘V for clipboard history.
Will it block my scroll bar?
No. Fresh from the edge, dragand lets clicks and scrolls through until you move onto it, and if you don’t use it, it leaves straight away.
Does it work with an external display?
Yes. In Settings › General you choose which display it comes in on: the one with the pointer, or the main one.
